Motorists can save as much as £300 per year if they opt to become more environmentally friendly on the road, according to new research.
Price comparison site uSwitch.com states that people who become more conscious of their carbon footprint while using their vehicle stand to make savings on road tax bills and fuel.
In addition, it may be that a number of car insurance firms offer cheaper deals to people who do their bit for the environment.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Ashton Berkhauer from the company said that eco-friendly motoring is rapidly evolving into a big issue for drivers.
"A vehicle's green credentials are fast becoming a major selling point when it comes to buying a new car," said the official.
