The cost of a car insurance policy in the UK can be cut by shopping around for a good deal, according to a national cover body.Significant savings can be made by motorists who scour the market for a deal before deciding on a policy, according to the Association of British Insurers (ABI).ABI spokesperson Malcolm Tarling stated that while costs are expected to go up in the coming months, the sector is still competitive.He added that motorists should ensure they are not blinded by price."Shopping around is the best way of cutting the cost of your insurance. But make sure you shop around and find a policy that actually has the cover you want," he remarked.The ABI is made up of around 400 cover companies and combined it provides domestic insurance services for 94 per cent of the market.
