Fiat has announced it recorded its "best ever" trading profit in the last quarter of 2008. The company said the figure rose four per cent from 2007 to 3.4 billion euros (£3.2 billion), with total revenue of 59.4 billion euros (£55.9 billion). This was a 1.5 per cent increase compared to the previous year. Car customers in France, Germany and Brazil caused sales to rise in those countries, while Fiat also stated its divisions dealing with agriculture, construction and other commercial vehicles reported profit increases. Those looking for car insurance for their Ferrari may be reassured to know its profits climbed by 27.4 per cent in 2008 over 2007. Maserati also set a new record with an 18.9 per cent rise in revenue. Fiat cars currently available in the UK include the Multipla, Grande Punto, Sedici and the Qubo - a multi-purpose vehicle which the manufacturer describes as "easy to love".
