Classic British Cars

Since rover finally keeled over the British car industry has become something of a historic footnote. Yet the British car industry’s heritage is surprisingly strong, with many stylish and beautiful cars having come into existence in the sheds of British men.

From the iconic to the ostentatious classic British cars are of only a few types. There are the classic sports-cars produced by Triumph, often soft-topped and small, they are perfect for any summer drivers.

The classically regal Rolls-Royce and Bentley models may not exactly be reliable cars for the school run but could be perfect for other, more refined, occasions.

Of course, the Austin Mini is as iconic as ever and is still much loved by the collectors of classic cars – especially since the release of the new not-very-mini mini in recent years. Although it may not be a good idea to put it back on the rally circuit!

The reason these cars are as popular as ever is that they represent an idea of “the good old days”. Often there will be the link to sophistication and style which cannot often be found in modern cars – of course, it may well be that drivers of classic cars like to pretend to be James Bond on sunny days!
