Motorists who have had to make a car insurance claim after being targeted by thieves may welcome the news a police crackdown in Greater Manchester has resulted in three arrests.Operation Battenberg, which was carried out on Friday November 21st, also saw four untaxed vehicles being seized and the recovery of a stolen car.During the initiative, officers visited a number of second-hand and scrap-metal dealers to target people who may be handling stolen goods.In addition to this, 139 security-screw kits were handed out to motorists keen to secure their number plates.Chief Inspector Andy Baddeley said: "Reducing vehicle crime remains one of our top priorities."He added people could reduce their chances of having to make a car insurance claim by making sure they removed valuables from view.Elsewhere, Nottinghamshire police warned motorists not to leave their cars unattended with the keys in the ignition, even for a short period of time.
