Dangerous driving caught on YouTube
It seems that many cloth-brained motorists are now deciding to put their law-breaking antics on to the World Wide Web.
Video streaming website “YouTube” is flush with a host of dim-witted drivers performing stunts in their vehicles, some of which break the law on multiple levels.
But police have caught onto this current trend, researching who the drivers are, tracking them down and bringing them to justice. Although it sounds rather counter-intuitive to post criminal activities on the web and brag about them, thousands of videos have surfaced, much to the shock of YouTube and the police.
One video shows a young man ‘ghost-riding’ his car down the street. This is when the driver leaves the car running, gets out of the vehicle and stands on top of the roof. Other videos show motorists street racing, stealing cars and even running from the police.
In a case in 2007 one teenager filmed himself setting fire to cars, breaking the speed limit in his parent’s car and street racing – whilst giving a running commentary describing what was happening and laughing.
It is this kind of behaviour that contributes to young driver’s insurance costs being sky high, and why no insurance firms offer them cheaper deals.
Police are actively monitoring video streaming websites to root out any law-breaking citizens, and ask that if you receive videos of people committing crimes to report them to the police immediately.
