Eco-friendly vehicle 'would be considered by 21 million'

Tuesday, 29/04/2008

Motorists in the UK would consider swapping their car for an environmentally-friendly vehicle if the incentives were great enough, it has been claimed.

Research from price comparison site Tescocompare.com has found that 21 million would make the switch if they had a good enough reason to.

It may be that they save on car insurance policies by driving a green vehicle, despite research from the firm showing policies to be £50 more expensive in an eco-friendly model.

However, around a quarter of drivers in Britain would pick up such a vehicle as opposed to paying higher fuel prices and taxes.

This green drive comes as British rock band Radiohead recently chose against flying to the US for an appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien in order to reduce their carbon footprint.

Instead, the band appeared and played via satellite link-up.
