Mondial has said the accuracy of the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of its roadside assistance technicians has been boosted by the use of the TomTom satellite navigation system. The firm noted it is increasingly vital for customers to be provided with an accurate ETA when providing roadside assistance as the roads become increasingly congested. As a result, Mondial Assistance has invested in a software application from TomTom to enhance the accuracy of this figure, which can help car insurance holders waiting for help on the roads.Robert James, technical services director at Mondial Assistance, said: "TomTom technology ensures that we give the customer the best service possible, by getting a technician to the job quickly and providing the customer with an accurate ETA."He added that the company's main priority is to provide the right resource to customers and fix any problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. In August 2008, TomTom announced the launch of its GO x40 Live device, which it claimed set a new standard for the navigation industry.
