Be Wiser News:

Friday 'could prove frightening'

Wednesday, 29/10/2008

Motorists keen to avoid making a claim on their car insurance need to be extra vigilant this Halloween, the RAC Foundation has claimed. The motoring group claimed the fact the festival falls on a Friday could make the event even scarier for drivers. It explained the last day of the working week is a bad time for road accidents anyway and with trick or treaters out in force during the rush hour matters could be made worse. The organisation highlighted statistics which show, in 2007, 51,792 traffic collisions were reported on Fridays - 4,000 more than the second most treacherous day.According to the RAC Foundation, it is up to motorists to take extra care "as excited tweens and teens focus on their next sweetie fix, not road safety".In other news, the group recently warned texting while in charge of a vehicle could be more dangerous than getting behind the wheel drunk or on drugs.
