Tuesday, 24/02/2009

Classic car insurance customers looking forward to next month\'s Race Retro event may welcome the news a 24-carat gold-painted Aston Martin will be up for auction.

The 1995 model was previously owned by the Italian Prince Rupoli, who was responsible for ordering the extravagant paint job thought to have cost approximately £150,000.

It also features seven diamonds that are located on the bonnet.

The vehicle will be available to view on the Friday of the Race Retro festival.

It will be auctioned off the following day and is expected to make between £45,000 and £55,000.

Aston Martin is the chosen marque for this year\'s event, which starts on March 13th.

Tickets cost £20 for the Friday and £15 for each of the subsequent days.

Organisers previously announced three-times British Rally champion Mark Higgins will be driving an Aston Martin V8 during the live rally stage on the Saturday and Sunday.
