Police in Edinburgh are conducted a 24-hour crackdown on those using their mobile phones behind the wheel, it has been reported.According to the Edinburgh Evening News, eight constabularies across the country will are taking part in the scheme, which finishes at 07:00 BST tomorrow.Drivers who break the law in such a manner will be given a £60 fine and a three-point driving licence penalty, it added. And it could be that such a move invalidates their car insurance policies, as cover firms could see them as a risk on the road and increase costs."Don't do mobile when you are mobile, the consequences can be very severe, so don't risk it," said Chief Superintendent Mike McCormick from the Acpos Road Policing Business Area.Legislation was passed on drivers being fined £60 and given three-points on their licences in February 2007.
