People taking a trip on foreign soil at some point over the summer should consider renting rather than taking their own vehicles, it has been claimed. The company added that planning in advance can see people reduce the risk of an accident abroad - something which could prove costly. A spokesman for the company commented: "Driver safety at home and abroad is our number one priority and we hope by giving our customers this advice we can help them avoid holiday road incidents."
Tens of hundreds of UK motorists have met with accidents while in a foreign country and driving a car on unfamiliar roads. This can result in a huge financial loss as they have to pay thousands of pounds in repatriation costs, and in some cases, these accidents cost the motorist's life.
