Police officials in Derbyshire are to crack down on speeders on local roads as part of a month-long scheme, a news source has reported.
The BBC has stated that officers from across the region will carry out more checks on drivers as well as hand out £60 fines and fixed penalty notices with greater frequency.
It could be that motorists found breaking the law in such a manner struggle to pick up cheap car insurance policies in the future.
This is because some cover firms may judge them to be a risk on the road and increase prices as a result.
"There can be no doubt that exceeding the speed limit or simply driving too fast for the road conditions is a contributory cause of many road collisions," commented Derbyshire Police chief inspector Lynn Harris.
Yesterday the BBC reported that officials in the Lothians are clamping down on drivers who do not wear seatbelts behind the wheel.
