Officials working on behalf of national parks in the Peak District are to educate motorists visiting the area as to where they can and cannot take their cars, a local news source has reported.
The Yorkshire Post stated that a website and leaflets have been developed by the Peak District National Park Authority in cooperation with the police in order to get the message out.
Councillor Andrew Marchington, chairman of the Peak District National Park Authority services committee remarked: "The issue of use of the countryside by 4x4s and trail bikes is one of the most difficult we face."
It may be that motorists convicted for such a crime find themselves picking up increased car insurance policies in the future if cover companies view them as a road risk.
This comes as the Darlington & Stockton Times states that the Cod Back Reservoir beauty spot has modified its car parks to allow for alleviated traffic nearby.
