Police officers in Hamilton have launched an operation to rid the area's Palace Grounds of boy racers, it has been reported.
According to the Hamilton Advertiser, officials are acting after complaints from local residents, who say the racers have been loud and unruly.
If police get hold of the rogue drivers, it may be that they hand them a fixed penalty notice which seriously affects a car insurance policy in the future.
Barry Douglas, Hamilton councillor, commented that the continued instances are becoming a problem.
"There is a sizeable minority who cause problems by driving dangerously and going there to drink. Some businesses have complained about people urinating against the walls of their premises," said the official.
Meanwhile, the Dorset Echo has reported that residents in the area have also been complaining about boy racers.
They are fed up with the noise they create, commented local man Robert Messenger.
