Prices for soft-top Fiat may prove tempting

Thursday, 26/03/2009

The number of people planning to take out car insurance for the new soft-top 500 from Fiat may go up after motorists find out the price of the vehicle.

It has been announced this week that drivers will be able to purchase an entry-level edition for £11,300.

The manufacturer claimed this is great value for money, as it is significantly cheaper than many other convertibles.

Buyers will have a choice of 11 bodywork colours - including Tech House Grey and RaggaMuffin Red - and the roof comes in black, red or ivory.

Fiat\'s marketing director Elena Bernardelli said: "The sophisticated new 500 C is a faithful yet thoroughly modern take on the rich heritage of our sought-after 500, which highlights its strong, attractive personality."

Earlier this month, Jodie Kidd became the first person in the UK to take a new kind of test drive being offered by the manufacturer that includes advice on how motorists can reduce their CO2 emissions.
