Schumacher Cancels F1 Return

The sensational return of F1 legend Michael Schumacher has come crashing to a halt as the idea is scrapped and returned to the pit.

The seven-time Formula One world champion has been forced to pull out of his return to the Ferrari team due to a neck injury.

The comeback was completely unexpected and had every F1 fan salivating at the prospect of the driving legend gracing the asphalt one last time. Unfortunately, his return was set in motion after a near tragedy in the Hungarian GP, when a suspension spring came loose and struck current Ferrari driver Felipe Massa on the head during qualifying.

The German F1 legend was slated to step in for the remainder of the season, but has now confirmed that he can no longer take part.

A statement on his website read:

“I tried everything to make that temporary comeback possible, however, much to my regret it didn’t work out. We did not manage to a grip on the neck pain I have been suffering from recently, even if medically or therapeutically tried everything possible.”

Many F1 fans will be sad to hear such unfortunate news, and it is still not known who will replace Massa for the rest of the season.

Schumacher went on to say:

"I am disappointed to the core. I am awfully sorry for the guys of Ferrari and for all the fans which crossed fingers for me.”
