Motorists heading to Spain on a road trip this summer are going to the cheapest country in Europe for motoring, it has been claimed.
The Post Office has found that the cost of driving in Spain is cheaper than in the UK, Germany and France.
Indeed, the organisation asserted that diesel costs 94p per litre in the eurozone, which is cheaper than anywhere else on the continent.
Renting a vehicle for three days with 200 miles-worth of fuel costs £122 in Spain, whereas in Greece it would put drivers back £248, it added.
This could be good news for motorists already paying high car insurance and road tax prices.
Research conducted earlier this month by Avis Rent a Car found that people considering driving in Europe this summer should look to hire out a rental car, whatever the cost of doing so may be.
