Traffic laws breached in Salford

Thursday, 26/06/2008

Drivers in Greater Manchester picked up fines after being caught travelling in a no entry zone, it has been reported.

According to the Salford Advertiser, 49 Eccles motorists flouted the law in such a fashion and picked up a road conviction as a result.

It could be that those who are punished this way have trouble gaining cheap car insurance in the future, as cover companies could view them as a risk on the road.

Eccles Community Committee chairman John Matthews commented that "someone is going to get hurt" if the activity continues, the news source added.

He said: "The drivers say they don't see the signs so they just come on through - it's ridiculous."

This comes as the South Manchester Reporter has stated that staff at St Paul's Primary School will use their newsletter to publish photographs of parents parking their vehicles incorrectly close to the building.
