WYPTE highlights region's lack of car insurance

Around a fifth of car drivers in Huddersfield town centre are not insured, according to new figures released by the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Authority (WYPTE).

To be exact, 22.9 per cent of vehicles in the HD1 postcode area - which is the ninth-worst area in West Yorkshire for this kind of misdemeanour - are not covered by a car insurance policy.

But when it comes to the highest incidence of uninsured vehicles and road traffic accidents, Bradford is the region's worst offender.
