British automobile manufacturers Jaguar and Land Rover have announced that they will be giving young people the chance to enter the automotive repairs industry.
The Ford-owned companies have teamed up with the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Berkshire to set up an apprenticeship in Vehicle Body & Paint Operations at NVQ levels 2 & 3.
People who complete the course will then be able to go on and achieve an Automotive Technician Accreditation.
And it may be that drivers who suffer accidents turn to the qualified technicians in the future, after they contact their car insurance provider.
"The new apprenticeships will play an important role in the companies' drive to develop the talent capable of repairing the Jaguars and Land Rovers of tomorrow," a statement read.
This comes as Jaguar's first XF model - available in 3.0-litre and 4.2-litre editions - has rolled off the production line in Birmingham.
