Motorcycle insurance customers in the UK would rather ride with their partner than a glamorous Hollywood star or worldwide singing sensation, it has been claimed.
A survey by the Motor Cycle Industry Association (MCI) revealed twice as many bikers nominated their other half than heart-throbs such as Kylie, Ewan McGregor, Tom Cruise or Pierce Brosnan.
With Valentine\'s Day fast approaching, MCI has suggested people buy their loved ones a present with a difference.
The group suggested a day\'s motorcycling with the opportunity to gain a compulsory basic training (CBT) certificate.
MCI\'s Sheila Rainger commented: "Chocolates make you fat and flowers give you hay-fever, but a CBT certificate sets you free."
She stated passing the CBT entitles people to ride small-engined motorbikes, mopeds and scooters.
Ms Rainger added the test is the first step in joining a growing number of Brits who are escaping congestion by opting for two wheels.
In other news, MCI recently claimed some of the measures for the new practical motorcycle exam are still inadequate.
