Be Wiser News:

“Pleasure Vehicles” are a Perfect Way to Hold on to the Joy of the Open Road

Friday, 03/09/2010

Nearly half (46%) of Britain’s motorists own a second vehicle for pleasure according to a recent poll by Be Wiser Insurance.

A fifth (20%) own classic cars and nearly a quarter (23%) own motorbikes. Only 3.3% have a camper-van or similar.

A separate poll conducted in July found that only 22% of motorists felt their driving habits were unaffected by rising fuel costs and the green agenda. [1]

Mark Bower-Dyke, chairman of Be Wiser Insurance, comments:

“Commuting in your dream vehicle is one way to fall out of love with it. It seems road users are changing to more economical vehicles for the daily commute while keeping a second vehicle for fun.”

With such prized objects in the garage or on the drive quality cover is essential. Yet it need not be expensive.

Mark Bower-Dyke continues:

“A second vehicle policy with Be Wiser can be cheaper than taking out separate specialist insurance. Keeping the spirit of the open road alive is important – even if it means keeping business and pleasure separate. ”
