Be Wiser: Don't Take Renewals at Face Value
Wednesday, 30/06/2010 A staggering 91% of motorists received a more expensive renewal quote despite not having made a claim or changed any details, a recent Be Wiser Insurance poll shows.
Mark Bower-Dyke, Chairman of Be Wiser Insurance comments:
"Policy prices are increasing across the board, but the increase some road users face with renewals is shocking."
Of those faced with a renewal increase only 13% also managed to argue the price down with their current insurer.
Mark Bower-Dyke continues:
"Insurers will often be reasonably flexible when pressed - but at this point the trust between the customer and insurer is already broken and the customer is likely to look elsewhere."
Yet, thirteen per cent (13%) of motorists accept the renewal offer to "avoid hassle".
"Shopping around is important, but it is easy to get disheartened - even "easy" comparison sites often turn out to be surprisingly long-winded" says Mark Bower-Dyke.
Luckily sixty-nine per cent (69%) of UK motorists change insurer when faced with an insurance premium increase without cause.
Mark Bower-Dyke concludes:
"Be Wiser Insurance compares the renewal price against all our other insurers to make sure we're offering the best deal to our customers. We're trying to take the hassle out of good value car insurance."
