Sir Jimmy Savile goes to Lakes in his California

Sir Jimmy Savile has taken a trip to the Lake District in his brand-new Volkswagen (VW) California campervan, it was revealed today.Having purchased the vehicle just before Christmas, the van is the third VW camper Sir Jimmy - who fans will know from Top of the Pops and Jim'll Fix It - has owned over the years.He said it is his "dream" car and one that lets him fulfil his natural role as a "wanderer"."I love motorhomes and especially sleeping in them," the TV presenter added.According to VW, the California can be used for anything from shopping trips to touring as it can be swiftly converted from a van to a "home from home".It comes equipped with two double beds, a cooker, sink, fridge and pop-up roof, as well as an AC converter and swivel seats to create an indoor lounge area.There are also fresh water and waste tanks onboard.
