Be Wiser Insurance

Subaru has announced the price point at which its WRX STI model will hit the market, adding that it's a shock to the industry.

The vehicle will be available to order from March and at £24,995 on-the-road is £1,600 cheaper than had been anticipated.

It may be that the cheaper cost gives motorists some extra money with which to pay for its car insurance policy.

This may be a particular help to World Rally Championship (WRC) fans, as the vehicle is based on models from the competition.

"With a heavily-revised new 300 PS turbocharged 2.5-litre boxer engine, totally new platform and suspension plus even more advanced symmetrical all-wheel drive system, the World Rally Championship lookalike is sure to satisfy Subaru traditionalists," said the company.

Subaru made its WRC debut in 1993. It later saw Colin McCrae picking up the world championship driving its Impreza model.
