One in five couples bring their relationship to an abrupt end following an argument at the wheel research conducted by Kia has claimed. In an attempt to reverse these gloomy statistics, the company has launched its own version of speed dating, rotating twenty men and women in conversation in Kias.
Certainly, having put up with the enforced intimacy of the Kia Picantos used, the partners are going to have a pretty good idea of what they are getting. After a few minutes of conversation with each person, Kia then took the participants to a bar and let them get on with it, doubtless thankful to have a little elbow room.
"Arguing in the car is a common experience that many couples go through," explained a spokesman for Kia Motors UK.
"We wanted to help couples at the earliest stages of their relationship find out how well suited they are on the road, as well as off. Regular dating events can often feel enforced and awkward so we set out to create an event that mirrored a real life situation and allowed single people to 'road test' their relationship . . . literally!"
Kia has taken its concept on the road around the UK.
