Mazda introduces new MX-5 ArticThu, 05/01/2017
Mazda has revealed the new MX-5 Arctic ahead of the model’s arrival in the UK in February.
Yahoo! News reports:
Based on the 1.5-litre SE-L Nav variant, the Arctic is distinguished by its Blue Reflex Metallic paintwork and the silver on the windscreen surround and door mirror caps. The car also gets 16-inch silver alloy wheels, silver cup holders and chrome scuff plates.
The changes aren’t just aesthetic, though. Heated leather seats have also been fitted, along with automatic lights, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking sensors.
This car, which is limited to just 400 examples, will be the second MX-5 to wear the Arctic badge, 12 years after the second-generation roadster was adorned with the moniker.
The Arctic is, however, the third special-edition MX-5 to have been introduced since the fourth-generation car was launched in 2015. The 2.0 Sport Nav-based Sport Recaro was first, followed by the smaller-engined Icon, which is set apart by its chequered flag decals.
Jeremy Thomson, managing director of Mazda Motors UK, said: “We are delighted to offer another special version of the award-winning MX-5 convertible. We’ve had a long history of producing distinctive limited-edition MX-5s that allow customers to drive a sports car with stand out looks and enhanced standard equipment.
“The new MX-5 Arctic’s exclusive looks and great value mean it’s sure to be a popular choice when it arrives in dealerships early next year.”
The Mazda MX-5 has always been a popular choice amongst motorists, and these changes will undoubtedly resurface the excitement around this little car.
