BARRON WINNER A CUT ABOVE THE REST
Trainer David Barron won his second Fast Track Qualifier in the space of 48 hours when ABOVE THE REST landed the Listed Lady Wulfruna Stakes at Wolverhampton on Saturday. COULIS CLAIMS GOOD FRIDAY PLACE
CLON COULIS returned from a winter break at Chelmsford City last week to win the Fast Track Qualifier for the Fillies’ and Mares’ Final on Championships Day. David Barron’s dual Listed winner asserted under top jockey Jamie Spencer, beating a solid opponent in Pattie. On the same evening, French raider AMADE also clinched a place at the Finals when he won the qualifier for the Marathon Final.
ZWAYYAN TUNES UP FOR LINCOLN WITH RE-APPEARANCE WIN
Andrew Balding is gunning for glory in the first big handicap of the turf season, the Lincoln, with ZWAYYAN, who returned from his winter break without his usual headgear to wear down a competitive field in the valuable Lincoln Trial Handicap at Wolverhampton on Saturday. David Probert gave the chestnut a cool ride to swoop late on runner-up Breden and set up a crack at Doncaster’s traditional cavalry charge.
