COWELL HOPING FOR GOOD FRIDAY ENCORE
 
ENCORE D’OR confirmed his place in the £150,000 Sprint Final on Good Friday when he won Newcastle’s Fast Track Qualifier last week under champion jockey Luke Morris. It was trainer Robert Cowell’s first winner in two months but he’ll be hoping for a repeat if his classy gelding runs in a Listed race prior to Finals Day.
 
STREET COULD BE A BUSY HORSE
 
Top All-Weather trainer Mick Appleby could have big plans for BUSY STREET following his win in Newcastle’s valuable two-mile handicap last week. The race could prove a dress rehearsal for the Northumberland Plate over the same course and distance this summer but connections are dreaming of a possible trip Down Under for the Melbourne Cup in November.
 
FOUR TIMER FOR FEARLESS FEARSOME 
 
Nick Littmoden’s FEARSOME made it two wins in five days when he scored his fourth consecutive success on sand at Lingfield Park on Saturday. The five-year-old beat three useful rivals in the mile and a half handicap under young claimer Josh Bryan to supplement his success at Wolverhampton.
