Breathless Display By Speedy Times

Top trainer Roger Charlton stole the headlines at Lingfield Park last weekend with two star performers while at Newcastle, a previous track winner caused quite a purr!

BREATHLESS DISPLAY BY SPEEDY TIMES

BREATHLESS TIMES, fast enough to be fourth in last season’s 3YO Sprint Final, took a step up to seven furlongs well and truly in his stride to land Lingfield Park’s feature race last Saturday. Roger Charlton’s gelding has come back even better following a wind operation and was given a fine ride by young Adam McNamara, who is now celebrating riding out his claim.

RED MAKES BIG IMPRESSION FOR CHARLTON

Roger Charlton has another potential star in his yard judging by RED IMPRESSION’S remarkable victory on the same Lingfield card. The daughter of Dark Angel bounded clear by six lengths to make it two from two and smash the six-furlong juvenile track record. She could prove Group class in due course but sets a demanding early standard for the 3YO category should Good Friday’s final be in her trainer’s mind.

KITTEN SUPPLEMENTS LAST SEASON’S NEWCASTLE SUCCESS

William Haggas’s BIG KITTEN supplemented last season’s win at Newcastle when he got back on track in a mile and a quarter handicap there last week. Smart enough to chase home subsequent Belmont Stakes runners-up Gronkowski at Chelmsford a year ago, he stretched clear under top jockey James Doyle to take his All-Weather record to two from four.
