Be Wiser Insurance is lacing up its boots and preparing for a football match of global proportions.

The firm has been announced as an official partner of the star-studded Star Sixes tournament and its logo will feature on the strips of both the England and France teams, who are among the favourites to win the inaugural 12-nation tournament.

Organised by Pitch International (London), in partnership with Football Champions Tour, Star Sixes will reunite the world’s greatest players in their national team colours to renew old rivalries at The O2, London, this week (July 13-16).

Each nation has a ten-man squad and the galaxy of stars representing their countries again include Brazil’s Rivaldo Germany’s Michael Ballack and Italy’s Alessandro Del Piero.

Be Wiser, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, will be at the centre of the action, with its recognisable owl logo appearing on the shorts of the England players and the shirts of the French team. Among the players to sport the Be Wiser brand will be England’s Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen, plus France’s Robert Pires, Marcel Desailly and Eric Abidal.

Be Wiser chairman Mark Bower-Dyke said: “We are absolutely thrilled that such legends of international football will be sporting our logo during this exciting event. Teamwork among our staff has played a significant role in our growth over the last decade and we’re looking forward to seeing how the players work together on the pitch at Star Sixes.”

Star Sixes CEO Neil Bailey added: “We are delighted to welcome Be Wiser on board as an official partner of the first-ever Star Sixes tournament. To have been listed in the Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 for three years in succession is a terrific achievement and we’re extremely grateful for the support Be Wiser is giving the event in general, and in particular the England and France teams.”

Star Sixes, which will be screened live by Sky Sports, will feature a group phase followed by knockout stages – including penalty shootouts – culminating in the Star Sixes Final. Tickets, which start at £30 for Adults and £10 Juniors, are on sale at
