Be Wiser Insurance takes to the rally stageWed, 05/09/2018
When female rally driver Louise Cook needed help to compete on the world stage in Germany recently Be Wiser Insurance stepped in to keep her championship hopes alive.
Louise is currently the only woman competing in the World Rally Championship. She is contesting WRC3 section of the series and was facing a financial battle to get to Germany for the latest round of the championship.
Be Wiser Insurance is already a key sponsor of motorsport on two wheels as title sponsor of the Be Wiser Ducati Team in the British Superbike Championship, but Mark Bower-Dyke Chairman of Be Wiser Insurance said the insurance broker was happy to step in and help Louise and co-driver Stefan Davis.
“Louise has great ambitions to be the first female world rally champion and we were delighted to step in with support for her recent efforts in Germany where she picked up valuable points despite a few mechanical issues in a Fiesta R2,” said Mark.
“She now lies seventh in the championship and we wish her all the very best of luck for the rest of the season.”
Louise said it has been a tough fight this year and it was thanks to support of companies like Be Wiser Insurance and a crowdfunding campaign that she even managed to make the start line.
It was the first time Louise had driven on tarmac in six years, the last time being Rallye Monte-Carlo in 2012.
Despite a tough weekend she set her first fastest time in the WRC3 on the tricky Grafschaft vineyard stage and picked up 15 points in the championship.
Her next ambition is to raise enough funds to compete on Rally Turkey.
