Classic-winning trainer Jim Bolger took Ireland’s Fast Track Qualifier for the Mile Final on Good Friday while Simon Crisford unleashed a promising sprinter at Newcastle.
 
THEOBALD CLAIMS GOOD FRIDAY PLACE
 
Ireland has a good record in the £150,000 Mile Final at Lingfield on Good Friday and Jim Bolger’s THEOBALD will bid to enhance it after winning the Fast Track Qualifier at Dundalk last week. He beat the 2016 champion Captain Joy, who has since been retired after earning over 300,000 euros in prize money.
 
CRISFORD FILLY MAKES WINNING RETURN
 
KAREENA KAPOOR, who got within half a length of subsequent Group One winner Pretty Pollyanna on debut last year, returned to win a novice sprint at Newcastle on Saturday. Simon Crisford’s three-year-old looks set to make her mark in better grade after scoring a straightforward success under Joe Fanning.
 
HONEYMOONER HARDIE KEEPS ON WINNING
 
Northern jockey CAM HARDIE will be hanging up his boots for a couple of weeks when he jets off to Mexico on honeymoon this month. But he kept his good run going with his fifth victory of the year, winning on Anthony Britain’s Grey Destiny at Southwell on Sunday.
