William Carver makes his first ever ride a winning one on Know The Truth at Southwell on Monday.

There was a dream start for a young teenaged jockey at Southwell this week while connections have called time on the career of a leading contender for the Fillies' and Mares Final on Good Friday. Meanwhile, top class All-Weather Championships action returns to Lingfield Park this weekend.

DAY TO REMEMBER FOR TEENAGED JOCKEY

WILLIAM CARVER had a day to remember at Southwell on Monday when his first ever ride became a winner. The 17-year-old former pony racing star from Sussex, who is based with top trainer Andrew Balding, coaxed Know The Truth home in the five-furlong maiden. "It hasn't even sunk in yet," he grinned to the Sky Sports' At The Races cameras.

NO FINAL DATE FOR ACE MARE MUFFRI'HA

Despite winning the Listed Fleur De Lys Stakes at Lingfield last month for the second year in succession, MUFFRI'HA will not be claiming her guaranteed place in the £150,000 Fillies' and Mares' Final on Good Friday. William Haggas's five-year-old, who has an impressive big race CV, has been retired to the paddocks in readiness for the new mating season in January.

LINGFIELD STAGES TWO FAST TRACK QUALIFIERS

Lingfield Park takes centre stage on Saturday when the winners of the Listed Churchill Stakes and Golden Rose Stakes will gain automatic qualification for the £1 million Finals Day on Good Friday. The Churchill, over 10 furlongs, is a Fast Track Qualifier for the Easter Classic while the winner of the Listed six-furlong feature will earn the right to run in the £150,000 Sprint Final.
