Scott Reading began racing Minimotos at the age of eight in 2001 and won the 2004 FAB-Racing Metrakit 50cc British MiniGP championship. He won all six rounds of the series at the Metrakit Calypso Cup in Spain in 2005.
In 2008, 15-year-old Redding became the youngest rider to win a race in Grand Prix motorcycle racing, until this record was later broken in 2018. He finished as the top production Honda rider at MotoGP in 2014 and went on to move to the Octo Pramac Racing squad in 2016, and Aprilia in 2018.
When he’s not racing, Redding enjoys Enduro, mountain biking and snowboarding.
“I was obviously happy to take the podium in the first race, but it wasn’t a deserved one as the three riders in front of me had more pace. To be honest, I didn’t expect the pace to be so quick at the beginning, but I hung in as best I could.
- Scott Redding
